Chromosome staining/banding/FISH
Paracentromeric heterochromatins detected with C-banding in most pairs, with a wide range of intensities. Silver staining showed NOR regions similar in size, in the terminal position of the short arms of chromosome pair 2 and in the telomeric regions of pair 3. The frequency of NOR positive chromosomes varied among cells from two to four, i.e. two active sites in pair 2 and one in pair 3.
